This Sucks!

We Really Blew It!
Disappointment.
That’s the word.
It’s the only one that fits
this hollow ache
I’m carrying as I come to terms
with the aftermath
of this whole FWB thang
or whatever you want to call it.
What I know for sure
is that I’m letting go of someone
who has meant so much to me
throughout my life
~ and it hurts.
This person
wasn’t just a passing phase
or a casual connection.
He was woven into my memories,
my heart,
my dreams of the future.
It Really Sucks!
But somehow,
in the middle of life’s chaos,
other relationships, and the responsibilities of daily life,
we neglected our friendship.
That was the beginning of the end.
I believe we
became physical at the worst possible time
~ when life wasn’t stable for either of us.
The timing was off,
the emotions were tangled,
and the foundation we once had
seemed to have crumbled
under the weight of unmet expectations
and unclear boundaries.
And now?
Now
I’m left to grieve
not just the relationship,
but the dreams I built around it.
The imagined futures,
the “what ifs,”
the hope for something more
~ they’re all gone.
Here’s the thing about dreams:
they’re beautiful,
but
they can also betray you.
We 'Dreamers' need to remember
BALANCE
Our dreams
build us up
and give us hope.
We must be careful
that when reality doesn’t match,
we don't allow
ourselves to feel like
the world is about to come crashing down.
We own our dreams
~ Our Dreams ~
don't own us.
It’s not easy.
It's not just
about letting go of the person
~ it’s about releasing the life you thought you’d have with them.
It’s about forgiving yourself for trying,
even when
the odds were stacked against you.
As I sit with this sadness,
I realize something:
even though it’s hard,
it’s necessary.
Letting go of someone doesn’t erase their significance in your life.
It doesn’t undo the memories
or the lessons
they’ve given you.
But it does free you
to move forward
~ wiser.
So,
here’s to the dreams 🥂
we dared to dream
and the strength it takes to release them. 🕊️
Sometimes,
loving yourself
means mourning
what could have been
and finding peace
in what is.
